Health officials reported eight additional Covid patients from the Taipo domestic worker dormitory cluster at Unit 1C of Fung Nin Building in Taipo. With the two patients added yesterday, the cluster has reached a total of 10 patients.
The Centre for Health Protection said as of 12am today, it has recorded 98 additional confirmed coronavirus cases – nine imported and 89 local – bringing the tally to 7,722 cases.
Among the 98 patients were 43 men and 55 women, aged between six months to 85 years.
Dr Chuang Shuk-kwan, head of the Centre for Health Protection's Communicable Disease Branch, said of the fresh local cases today, 59 were linked to previous local infections and 30 with untraceable sources.
The local patients confirmed today also include one from the Lohas Park construction site cluster, one from the department store Yata in Shatin, one from the Community Treatment Facility at AsiaWorld-Expo, one from the dance cluster, two from Kwai Tung House in Tung Tau Esate and two from the construction site at Tseung Kwan O-Lam Tin Tunnel.
A total of three mandatory testing order has been issued to people who visited the Unit 1C of Fung Nin Building in Taipo after November 15, Tat Yi House of Po Tat Estate in Kwun Tong after November 20 and the Ming Lai House of Choi Wan Estate in Wong Tai Sin after November 20.
Chuang said apart from the 10 domestic workers confirmed infected, four family members of the domestic worker infected yesterday were also said to have contracted the coronavirus, including a six-month-old baby.
“The dormitory is handled by the Hong Kong Maid Agency, there are currently around 30 close contacts of the infected being put under quarantine,” Chuang added.
